Please note that VAT is charged in addition, currently at a rate of 20%. To get an idea of the costs involved we have prepared the following price ranges for simple, medium and high complexity cases (excluding VAT), but please note that the fees will be based on hourly rates.

 

The complexity of your case depends on a number of factors, and these can be identified and discussed at your initial free consultation.

Simple case: £3,000 – £7,000

Medium complexity case: £7,000 – 12,000

High complexity case: £12,000 – £15,000

 

The services included within our fees and the key stages of an application are

• taking your initial instructions
• where necessary, entering into pre-claim conciliation
• preparing a claim
• reviewing and advising on a claim made by the other party
• exploring settlement and negotiating settlement options
• preparing for a Preliminary Hearing
• taking witness statements and drafting statements
• agreeing on a list of issues and the chronology
• preparation and attendance at Final Hearing, including instructions to Counsel

 

Please note:

• Counsel’s fees are always separately charged.
• Disbursements are not included in the fees above and can include fees payable to the court or those required for independent expert reports such as medical reports.

You do not need to instruct us for all of these areas of a case; if you feel you would like to instruct us on specific aspects of your case then the cost of your case will take this into consideration. You will only be charged for what you require.

We unfortunately cannot take cases on a no-win-no-fee basis, but we are able to accept cases which are paid for by legal expenses insurance.

We can advise on your settlement agreement, if you have been provided with one and need to know whether it is a good deal or not.

 

Duration of employment matters

The time that it takes from taking your initial instructions to the final resolution of your matter depends largely on the stage at which your case is resolved.

If your matter is relatively straightforward then your case is likely to take 4-6 weeks. If your claim is more complex, for example, if there is substantial opposition from interested parties, or if there is a delay in receiving the documents we need, it may take longer.

If your case proceeds to a final hearing, then this can take 26-52 weeks. However, this is an estimate, and we will of course provide a more accurate timescale prior to starting any work and once we have established the facts of your matter.

 

To get an idea of the costs involved we have prepared the following price ranges for simple, medium and high complexity cases (exclusive of VAT at %20), but please note that the fees will be based on hourly rates.
